This morning I got an email from the Dauphin County Democratic Party asking me to vote for their list of endorsed candidates! You probably got a similar one from your local Democratic Party.

Energy
We have a wealth of natural resources within Central PA: coal, natural gas, wind, and more.
Our resources have provided good jobs and built communities for many generations. Our region’s historical energy production was the engine for the development of our state and our nation.
But, our legacy resources are finite. We need to plan for the future.
We must begin to think in a 21st century about how we harvest and use these natural resources to fuel our future.
We must start using energy of all types, in ways that respect our health and the environment. We need clean and green jobs that keep us, our families, friends and environment safe and healthy.
Fueling Our Future
We central Pennsylvanians in the coal region found a way to fuel the energy needs of an emerging nation. Now, in our time, we must find, develop and deploy energy technologies which will meet the needs of our state and the nation’s future.
Clean energy: We need to compete for clean energy jobs. They are the central to our nation’s economic future.
Alternative energy sources are the way the country is moving, and we cannot afford to be left behind.
Our focus must be on new clean, green energy resources and on making our legacy resources cleaner, and greener.
Training/Education: We need comprehensive training and development programs around the new technologies where job growth is critical to our nation’s economic recovery.
Legislation: I support legislation in Congress that will provide American workers with good paying jobs and get them back to work.
Legislation must secure economic opportunities for the middle class to advance here in America rather than shipping more jobs overseas.
Our future lies by embracing legislation that provides incentives for alternative renewable energy ending our dependence on foreign oil.
When we end our dependence on foreign oil we will strengthen our homeland and end huge profits to big oil companies.
Wind turbines, solar technologies, geothermal, biomass and nuclear energy projects are just some examples that will provide family sustaining green jobs.
Legislation addressing global warming and climate change must curb greenhouse gas emissions.
Climate change is one of the most environmental issues facing us.
A well designed climate policy must address domestic and international outcomes.
I will work to address the concerns of Pennsylvania’s workers, consumers and environmentalist to address the concerns of global warming and climate instability.
